Introducing Transform…

Transform is a producing company based in Leeds, presenting biennial international festivals and concocting projects by bold artists all year round. Focused on reimagining what theatre can look like and what it can do, we present theatre works everywhere from arts venues across Leeds, to city sites and outdoor spaces. Celebrating the independent and adventurous spirit of Leeds, we want to reflect the socially conscious and radical North, whilst connecting to the world.

Our Change Creation Plan

Key to building Transform’s long-term resilience is growing our audience, and diversifying and building our income generation model. We believe that fundamental to this is harnessing a local and global community, enabling them to be directly involved in the work of Transform and to become part of our mission to reimagine what theatre can look like and what it can do.

The project we want to take on with Change Creation is the Transform Movement, which will grow and mobilise the communities gathered around Transform and enable our festivals to be realised in a democratic way.

We want to place the audience at the centre of the company, concocting ways for people to be meaningfully involved with Transform outside of our festivals, both digitally and physically. We want the change to impact how artists, stakeholders and communities are involved in our work too, and how we generate income and our artistic programmes. To discover this model we want to look to activism, the music industry, digital innovation, and the approaches of radical international arts organisations.

The Transform Movement will inspire and inform everything our organisation does; it will be a bedrock of people locally and globally, who all want to be part of developing a world-leading festival for Leeds and creating the future of theatre.
